I have been sponsoring a child in Uganda through Compassion for several years now. The chance to watch her grow up from 8 years old to 16 has been incredible, and it's so wonderful each time I get a letter (and I get a few each year!) to hear about how her family is doing and how well she's doing in school.

Compasion has put together Global Food Crisis day to help focus everyone on the Global Food Crisis so that those of us with a bit of excess can give to an organization that will directly help those with not enough.

Please consider making a donation to Compassion's GFC fund today and spreading the word to those you know. We can bring nourishment and hope to those who are struggling. Thank you!

  1. We've sponsored a little boy in Senagal for 3 years now and just started sponsoring a little girl in Equador. It's a great feeling to have this connection to families so far away.

We sponsored a girl in Bolivia for 7 years through World Vision. She just "aged out of the program" at age 18 a few months ago, so now we have an infant.
We're also helping sponsor a pair of missionaries in Uganda.

  3. I had a roommate who sponsored through Compassion since before I met her, and her first child's village became self-sufficient. It is wonderful (and bittersweet for those who therefore lose the connection) when these organizations work themselves out of jobs in these areas!
