I think my A/C really is fixed now. It's been ok for a few days straight, so maybe that drama is all over. It's nice to be at home again rather than crashing with friends, and knowing that all my chocolate isn't getting melty and photos aren't warping anymore.

I had some really crazy dreams last night (one in which I got fired (which means transferred to a bad job for us) at least three times and basically responded that if they thought *I* wasn't a good enough employee, then good luck to them with whatever replacement they find, because they were all about to really miss having a good clerk around) ... probably because my brain got irrigated by my hour in the Dunk Tank yesterday at the command picnic. Hopefully I'll have the pictures of that this upcoming week to show you.

I'm going to go try to get gardening stuff this weekend so I can have an indoor herb garden and some other living, organic company around the apartment to make this place feel more cozy. When you look outside and all you see is sand and concrete, you really start wanting plants around, even more when you're prone to plant-loving in the first place.

And one of my French friends is leaving this week, so I've got her going-away tonight. Too bad, too, because I'd only just met her a month ago (and her other international friends), and was just getting to slide into the group. That's ok, I think the rest of 'em may keep me around, and it's SO fun listening to their accents and joking with everyone about our cultural differences.

And I'm well under thirteen months from completion now, so that is a nice silver lining around the whole batch of thoughts and feelings.

  1. Glad you are back home, reasonably cool, and getting 'green' inside the apartment.

Bon voyage to your friend . . . and enjoy being with friends of all sorts. Great distractions!

13 months . . . you are on the home stretch . . . and things DO get better -- ANYWAY!
