I was walking around the base the other day, and went by an idling car, and finally figured out how to explain what the heat is like here.
You know when you're standing near the exhaust pipe of a car that's been running for a while, and the exhaust coming out is really hot, and somewhat stale despite the circulation, and pretty humid....
So now pretend the exhaust pipe is the atmosphere. And sometimes the air doesn't circulate at all, but even if it does, it's almost hotter for the movement.
THAT is about what it's like over here.
It's been over 120 degress F and 100 percent humidity most days since I got back, but the last two days have been a breezy 95 .. this evening, it may have gotten down to about 87 or so, and the humidity was a lot lower. The breeze actually felt a little cool, after such hot days. So I much more enjoyed being outside after work, but the workday was still burning hot and a little disorienting. And exhaust-ing.
Wow! That IS hot! (Love your last line!)
ReplyDeleteWatching the weather reports over here, it was funny to see things warming up a little Stateside (some folks along the southern East coast have even said it's getting very hot there) compared to how it is here... man, and to think it's only just beginning...
